From Pheasants Forever:
THE MICHIGAN ADOPT-A-GAME-AREA PROGRAM IS SETTING A HIGH BAR
Pheasants Forever & partners in Michigan are preparing to implement their first full-year of projects as part of the state’s Adopt-A-Game-Area Program (AAGAP). Fundraising efforts over the past twelve months are now supporting $389,515 worth of grassland improvement projects in Michigan’s primary pheasant range. These public lands restoration efforts, focused on upland habitat and led by Pheasants Forever’s AAGAP program coordinator Ben Beaman, will restore or enhance 1,108 acres of grasslands in 2020.
“Financial support from our dedicated chapters as well as corporate giving from a wide range of businesses has allowed the Adopt-A-Game-Area Program to flourish in it’s first year,” stated Beaman. “This program is setting a high bar for grassland restoration efforts throughout the state’s southern tier and is proving extremely additive to the Michigan Pheasant Restoration Initiative. Thank you to the Michigan DNR as well as the Hal & Jean Glassen Memorial Foundation whose support of AAGAP makes this work possible."
